Hello Friends, welcome back to my blog. Today, I am going to share with you all about embroidery. There are two types of Embroidery such as Hand Embroidery and Machine Embroidery. In this blog I am going to talk about Hand Embroidery. Hand Embroidery is the most basic and older work in Fashion Industry. Embroidery is an art and craft of decorating fabric. Embroidery can be integrate with other materials such as Pearls, Beads, Quills, and Sequins. In modern days, embroidery is usually seen on all Indian dresses, household things, wall decors, caps, hats, coats, jackets, blankets, dress, shirts, denim, dress shirts and, stockings. Embroidery available with a wide variety of Threads and Yarns in colours. There are so many shops I found in Vancouver where you can find embroidery supplies. Now let us talk about some basic techniques or Stitches of the earliest embroidery are Chain stitch, Buttonhole stitch, Running stitch and, Cross stitch. Those stitches remain the fundamental techniques of hand embroidery today. There is more hand embroidery, very famous in fashion world that is Zardosi. It is a favorite form of embroidery for palace furnishings and animal prints, and is still used to decorate special occasion garments, although the expense of the materials means that modern forms of this embroidery often use imitation gold and silver. For embroidery different kind of materials are used according to the different stitches. There are lots of different motifs used for different stitches such as flowers, birds, and etc. It depends on which embroidery is being used for which purpose. I hope you understand the importance of embroidery in fashion industry and I linked some of the stitches above so you can go and check them out on how it all works. I hope you all enjoyed this blog! I will see you soon in my another Fashion related blog. Thank you!

Fashion Elements

Hi, welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to talk about about Elements of Fashion. The elements of creating and designing every object around us. Elements of Fashion is the most important part in Fashion. Nothing can exist without these ingredients. Without Fashion elements, garments are impossible to finish. There are 4 main types of Fashion Elements such as Lines, Shapes, Textures, and Colors. Lets talk about more about Fashion Elements in details.
Line:- There are different kinds of lines such as straight, horizontal, vertical, zigzag and, curved. Line in Fashion can be created by the structure or decorative features of a garment. Line in fashion is important because line affects how someone sees fashion. Our eyes follow lines, and eyes can be lead up or down or side to side or around a garment. Every line has its on influences like Vertical lines lead the eye up and down the garment. Horizontal lines lead the eye across the garment. Diagonal lines draw the eye’s attention. Curvy lines lead the eye around the garment and etc.
Shape:-Silhouette of a garment. Popular shapes in fashion change over time. Shape or silhouette in fashion is important because it affects how someone sees a fashion. Our eyes perceive shapes that have an impact on how the garment is perceived.
There are 4 basic shapes in Fashion such as:
Hourglass, (The hourglass shape draws the eye’s attention to the curves of a woman’s body. Use this shape to draw attention to the natural shape of a woman’s body).
Tabular (The tubular shape draws the eye’s attention up and down the length of the body. Use this shape to smooth out the body’s lines).
Bell (The bell shape draw the eye’s attention to the waist and hip area).
A-Line (The A-Line is not a fitted shape, and it flatters all figures. It is often used for summery, flirty garments).
Now let us talk about Textures. It refers to the surface quality of goods. Texture can be used all over the garment or for embellishment. And lastly Colours is the most important element in Fashion design and there are many different colour schemes that works together such as Neutral Colours, Warm Colours, Cool Colours. I hope you guys enjoyed my blog. Thank you and see you soon with another exciting blog about Principle of Fashion elements!

Fashion Illustration
Hi Friends, I hope you all my like my last blog on Embroidery. Today, I am going to talk about Fashion Illustration. The illustration helps designers to create new concepts by introducing their unique and authentic ideas practically. This gives life to new fashion trends. The illustration helps to grow a new sense of fashion. Fashion illustrations helps to bring in new consumers who can become potential buyers. Fashion illustration forms the initial face of every design. It can be defined as the basic transmission of an idea into a creative design through diagrams and drawings. Fashion illustration is a visual way of explaining different design ideas. They have played a critical role in fashion designing since the evolution of clothes. Fashion Illustration is expressing your inner self and how you look at Fashion. It is the expression of your own creation. A fashion illustrator is technically a graphic designer who assumes a wide range of responsibilities like layouts, images or sketches. There are some responsibilities of Fashion Illustrator such as creating designs for garments, Sketch drawings (with the help of paint), charcoal and coloured pencils, developing fabric patterns, producing drawings and layouts. This is why Fashion Illustration is very important for Fashion Designer. Fashion illustration helps a designer to put down his/her ideas practically. This, in turn, helps in visualizing the ideas and concepts surrounding the design. The visual aids such as diagrams and images carry messages within them and become a communication medium for the designer. Illustrations bring to light the important details that needs more focus and attention. They form the foundation on which the entire planning and approach for the design of a particular garment or accessory are based upon.
Garment Pattern Making
Hi Friends, welcome back to my blog. Today, I am going to share about Pattern Making. Pattern Making is very important part of Fashion Designing and Sewing. Pattern Making is an Art that bridge functions between design and production. Fit is the most important factor leading to the final acceptance of a garment.
Pattern is the template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto fabric before being cut out and assembled. Patterns are usually made of paper, and are sometimes made of strong construct materials like paperboard or cardboard if they need to be more robust to withstand repeated use. The process of making or cutting patterns is sometimes condensed to the one-word Pattern Making, but it can also be written pattern(-)making or pattern cutting.
Block Pattern is a custom-fitted, basic pattern from which patterns for many different styles can be developed. Today I am going to share some of the Pattern Making basic block with Diagram. In diagram you can see there are different patterns which can be generally use for apparel making such as Bust, Bust Point, Waist, Bicep, Hips, Crotch, and Knees. Nowadays, at most large manufacturers, patterns are made on a computer with computer-aided design (CAD) systems, the pattern maker manipulates small graphic patterns on the computer screen with a hand-held control device. They have made the process of pattern making more economical and less time consuming. Pattern Making Softwares enables you to input your measurements and draft out a pattern. Through Softwares, patterns can be made in 2D and 3D too.
